Acts of Kindness

Many people have responded to the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, by performing random acts of kindness. The response to Anne Curry's #20acts, #26acts of kindness has been powerful. As I have heard countless times over the past few weeks, the only way to combat evil is with love. Here are some examples from the world of the internet.

First is this recent video from a 13 year old girl who decided to perform 13 acts of kindness on her birthday.

Next is this selection of stories from a site called Gives Me Hope. The stories are examples of acts of kindness that are shared by readers of the site.

This slideshow from the Huffington Post shows 21 acts of kindness that have been caught on tape or photographed.

This photo gallery from MSN shows more acts of kindness.

Ryan Garcia spent 2012 performing a random act of kindness every day for the entire year and documented his experience in this blog.

I will continue to feature sites and videos that show random acts of kindness because I certainly believe sharing kindness is important. If you have never performed a random act of kindness, I would encourage you to give it a try. It feels great for you and you help make the world a little nice place to live.
